Events make
lead generation more
efficient and sustainable

Emissions from trade fairs have fallen substantially over the past decades, partly thanks to reusable stand materials and the use of sustainable energy. Today, most of the remaining emissions are linked to travel by visitors and exhibitors to the event.

Yet this is also where trade fairs offer an important advantage: research shows that a trade fair visit avoids more than five separate business trips per visitor per day on average*. A well-organised event can therefore be commercially efficient while also reducing the overall climate impact.

What we do as an event organiser: three pillars, one positive impact

We take responsibility at every stage of the event process, from design to dismantling, and work with our partners, exhibitors and visitors on three clear pillars to make events more sustainable.

↻

1. Circularity
use less, reuse more

We aim to keep materials in use for as long as possible. Wherever possible, we choose modular and reusable solutions for stand construction, furnishings and signage. We limit single-use materials, reduce unnecessary printed materials and provide clearly defined waste streams.

✓  Modular and reusable exhibition stands

✓  Reuse materials across multiple events where possible

✓  Less printed material and packaging

✓  Sort and process waste correctly

♧

2. Energy & climate
use energy more wisely

An event needs energy for lighting, heating, ventilation, screens and technical systems. We look for ways to manage that energy use as efficiently as possible and draw on more sustainable energy sources.

✓  Energy-efficient lighting and equipment

✓  Efficient technical systems

✓  Careful use of heating and ventilation

✓  Make the greatest possible use of renewable energy

⇢

3. Mobility & logistics
more value from every trip

Travel by visitors and exhibitors is an important part of an event’s impact. At the same time, bringing so many contacts together in one place is one of the great strengths of a trade fair. That is why we want to help visitors make their journeys as efficient as possible while also reducing transport movements behind the scenes.

✓  Encourage public transport, cycling and carpooling

✓  Help visitors and exhibitors combine several meetings in one visit

✓  Consolidate deliveries and transport

✓  Prefer local suppliers

As an event organiser, we can do a great deal, but an event’s impact also depends on the choices made by exhibitors, visitors and partners. That is why we want to help everyone taking part in our events make more considered choices.

What can you do as a visitor?

Small choices make a difference together

⇢
Choose how you travel

If possible, come by public transport or bicycle, or share your journey with others.

+
Combine appointments

Plan several conversations and meetings during the same event visit.

♻
Sort your waste

Use the designated waste collection points at the event venue.

♡
Make considered catering choices

Choose what suits you and try to avoid food waste.

▢
Take only what you need

Prefer digital brochures and use QR codes instead of printed materials.

◌
Discover sustainable solutions

Use the event to meet companies and discover products and innovations that contribute to a more sustainable industry.

What can you do as an exhibitor?

Build your stand responsibly

□
Use reusable materials

Choose a modular stand design and avoid materials that will be thrown away after a single event wherever possible.

♻
Reduce waste

Consider in advance what you really need and avoid unnecessary packaging and disposable materials.

Use energy wisely

Choose energy-efficient lighting and equipment, and switch off devices when they are not in use.

⇢
Consolidate your transport

Combine deliveries and work with local suppliers wherever possible.

♡
Think carefully about giveaways

Choose a useful or sustainable item rather than large quantities of promotional materials. Use QR codes and digital product information instead of brochures.

●●
Involve your team

Make sustainability part of your preparations and communicate clearly with staff and partners.

More value from every encounter

For us, a more sustainable event is about using less material, energy and transport, and also about getting more value from every encounter and journey.

More contacts
in one visit
More knowledge
in one place
More business
opportunities per trip

Together with visitors, exhibitors and partners, we will keep working towards more sustainable events.
