Which network monitoring tool increases the cyber security of your industrial network? That is the research question IC4 wanted to tackle during its living lab project. Starting from a longlist of more than 200 tools, the most relevant ones were researched in further detail and stress-tested on a near-real industrial network with typical network traffic, simulated network issues and attacks. In this presentation a comparison is shared covering important criteria as performance, cost, user friendliness, etc. and providing lessons learned and guidelines for a good selection and proper use of these tools. The presentation is supported by live demonstrations on a representative demonstration setup.
